How Dr Finder works
Information relating to assessment acceptance, form creation/submission and billing is updated in real time, ensuring that the AMHP requestor has access to the most current detail.
1. Locate and request a doctor
From their caseload page, an AMHP can navigate to and review all relevant case details. They can then use Dr Finder’s map overlay to view available Section 12 independent doctors in the area, complete with specialisms and contact details.
2. Request an MHA assessment
With a single click, the AMHP can send a request to a selected doctor. The doctor receives a notification prompting them to log into the system, review patient details, and accept or decline the request.
3. Conduct the assessment
The Section 12 doctor attends the Place of Safety and conducts the assessment. If a medical recommendation is appropriate, they can instantly complete a Section 2, 3, or 4 recommendation form within the system. If no recommendation is made, a Medical Practitioner Rationale Form is completed instead.
4. Document decision making
Section independent 12 doctors can either start and complete a medical recommendation if appropriate or complete a Medical Practitioner Rationale Form if they choose not to make a medical recommendation based on their assessment.
5. Submit and approve fees
Once the assessment is completed, the doctor submits a claim for medical fees using a pre-populated form, reducing errors and admin time. The AMHP then reviews and approves the claim, ensuring smooth payment processing.
