Governance and compliance considerations
This referral scheme has been designed to comply with all relevant professional, legal, and organisational standards. The reward:
- Does not incentivise clinical decision-making or influence judgement, in line with GMC Good Medical Practice
- Is structured to avoid any form of bribery, in accordance with UK Anti-Bribery legislation, by rewarding participation rather than recruitment or referrals linked to clinical activity
- Complies with Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) requirements by avoiding any incentive tied to displacing or disrupting another service
- Aligns with NHS procurement principles, offering no exclusive inducements or payments linked to clinical referral pathways
- Meets Thalamos internal governance standards: the activity is voluntary, transparent, and administratively fair
- Thalamos reserves the right to refuse or withdraw rewards where compliance concerns arise
